|The Administration on Aging Integrated Database (AGID) home page.
||This video provides an overview of the Aging Integrated Database or AGID system. The purpose of the system is to provide a single, user-friendly source for a variety of information on AoA supportive services and comprehensive systems of care for older people and their care givers.
The AGID system allows users to query data from the Administration on Aging and access AoA related program performance results, surveys, and other data.
There are four main areas to AGID; each providing a different level of focus and aggregation of data.
|The cursor moves over Data-at-a-glance link in the middle of the home page.
||Data-at-a-glance provides users with quick access to single data elements within AGID’s state-level databases. Data are provided in tabular form and supplemented by a graphical representation. This is a useful tool for data-mining and exploring the various state-level databases.
|The cursor moves over State Profiles link on the middle of the home page.
||In state profiles users can access prepopulated tables for individual states or compare key data elements between two states, or one state and the US totals. Each state also has a map which shows the locations for the State Unit on Aging, Area Agencies on Aging, and, where applicable, tribal organizations.
|The cursor moves over Custom Tables link on the middle of the home page.
||Custom Tables is a tool with a multi-step process that guides a user to select the data elements, data stratifiers, and geographies that are applicable to their needs from AoA or Census databases. Users can refine their queries and generate detailed tables in spreadsheet form which can be downloaded. This is a powerful tool which allows multiple years of data to be selected, and data can be grouped or ranked across both time and geography.
|The cursor moves over Data Files link on the middle of the home page.
||The Data Files section provides access to AoA related databases. Users can download data files and supporting documentation such as code books, technical documentation, and programming statements. In addition, special tabulations based on the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey data are in the Data Files section. The special tabulations are sets of tables for each of the 50 states, DC, and Puerto Rico with different geographical levels of aggregation such as country, P S A, and Census Tract.
