National Survey of OAA Participants
Released as ASCII files (with related SAS programming statements) and SAS transport datasets, these public use files provide information on a collection of annual national surveys of recipients of Older Americans Act (OAA) program services reporting on service quality and consumer-reported outcomes. The instruments also measure special needs characteristics of the people who receive services such as physical and social functioning.
There are multiple years of data available for the National Survey of OAA Participants. Data and documentation are organized by year and service. Please click on the desired survey year and individual service for access to the documentation and data files.
Beginning with the 10th National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants (2015), the names of the data elements associated with post-stratified sample weights, Full and Replicate, have been changed from PSWGT and PSWGT1-PSWGT64 to PSTOTWGT and PSTOTWGT1 – PSTOTWGT64.
Additionally, the Caregiver files for 2008-2009 and 2011-2013 were updated to include three additional data elements, which are related to the physical condition of the caregivers: CGDISBB7 (Cancer and Tumors), CGDISBB8 (Mental Health), and CGDISBB9 (Eye Problems).
